Not everyone who took my Write A Blog People Will Read course expects to make a full living as a writer – at least, not right away. Some of them wanted to blog for their own fulfillment, and some took it to become better communicators at work and in personal relationships.
Similarly, not everyone who wants to work at home will be a writer, either full- or part-time. Quite a few other options exist out there, and you can learn about them at a free program from the Work At Home School.
The six-day Work At Home Summit features more than 40 speakers who will talk not just about potential jobs (some of which you may never have heard of before), but also about things like time management and how to create a viable business plan.
The point of this free promotion, of course, is to get potential WAHS students to sign up. But you don’t have to do that unless you feel it’s worth it, so why not take advantage of the free info?
The itinerary
Here’s how it looks:
Day 1: Plan, Part 1. Lay the foundation to your work-at-home life through topics like building confidence, overcoming money blocks, and goal-setting.
Day 2: Plan, Part 2. Continue building on that foundation through mindset changes, creating a business plan, and time management.
Day 3: Build, Part 1. Learn from experts who work at home using various skills like transcription, virtual assisting, writing, proofreading, and more.
Day 4: Build, Part 2. Learn from even more experts with expertise in blogging, Etsy selling, affiliate marketing, self-publishing, Amazon eCommerce, and even flea-market flipping.
Day 5: Thrive, Part 1. Topics like marketing, finding clients, managing work/life balance, what to do about healthcare coverage, effective networking, client management and more.
Day 6: Thrive, Part 2. The ins and outs of accounting/tax, time management, staying motivated, building “success habits,” staying fit when you work at home, nutrition for energy and more.
Is working at home right for you?
Again: This is the free part. You don’t have to buy anything.
You’ll also get a copy of an e-book called “Work At Home Truth Bombs,” which combined with the free information could help you decide whether entrepreneurship is a good fit for you right now (or ever).
Knowledge is power. What have you got to lose? You might find out about a gig you’ve never heard of before, such as “virtual assistant,” that might be perfect for your mix of talents.
Here’s hoping you discover things you didn’t know, and that you can turn them into side hustles or, maybe, full-time careers.
